of the dark halloween spring skies….

I am
king Goose
standing
rock within
small pond
she
is woman-raven
black stockings
and
feathered boa
running from
the ground towards
me
shadows of the world
silhouetted on her
body
and turning
her
to
queen of the grey skies
we are birds
of a different
breed
both conquerors
of our own
nations
and while i
stand quietly
from long travel
home
she circles the trees
and waits
to dive
pebbles for
a jar
my pond
is full of
them
and i rise
higher on
the throne
