Town Crier

(Excerpt from up coming novel)…………

with
his lantern
and
his voice
on cobble
stone
in narrow
main alley ways,
though
his msg
‘All is Well’
would
probably be
‘What the
hell!’
– his house
is
warm
and inviting
with
his music and
paintings
and i
think that’s
how he
wants
his town
to be.
but each
night
another landmark
is lost
and
he loses his
way
home
but his voice is safe and sound
so
he leaves behind
lantern
and picks up
camera
scrawls on the
pictures
inside an
album book,
“My City Fucks Up Everything”
-town crier
on
patrol
and i
am jealous
retirement does not
bode me
well
and retirement
for him
thankfully
for this
town,
does not exist….
