Did I paint this before or after you…….

I
press my hand
into
the
painting
understanding
how
i start most days
and
I
push through the
poem
past the broken
door
into the cabin

it is a cabin
lost
not dead
but
gone
moved on
into
the next
leaving me
a
lonely painter
up
on deck
waiting for
strike
3

I am
the next batter
pressing
hand
through the painting
happy to
learn
what waits beyond

+

how to be patient
happy
here

re-hinging-the-doorway

sweeping
the mat
playing with
life
past the front hallway
painting
lost to be born
conversations
into

the front yard
waiting

family
team-mates
