the farm birds

they move as a globe
one large
bubble from the straw
of a
a great current
an ocean wave in the
deep sky
they, their own
proving it can be
that the waters
run down
falling into space
diving back
fields –
tractors leaving the
pulling to a jump
into gravel
startle them
back into
their world,
these sky divers
and astronauts
scuba divers
showing me
they can
live in all 3 naturally

Touted as a working man's poet, Martin Durkin has been writing professionally for the last 12 years.
