it’s a jass pome

it’s a jass pome

jazz poem

it’s more improv
and coming in after a beat
to create duet

we’ll write together
one step behind
one step
ahead and one
step together

the automatic unison

jass pomes

on stage at noon
before the customers
before the
before the cigarettes

just you and me
me and you

my mind talking to
my imagination
pencil and

the bartender will wipe down the bar
maybe make a sandwich
and shake his head
not hearing it yet

but knowing

he’s doing right
letting me stay here by myself
with you

jass pomes
