old high school teacher
who doesn’t recognize

are you irish?

but i remember him,
very well

(20 years ago)
thought our marching jazz band should
wear school kilt, which the
female students wear
-borrow them,
ones, they keep short


because we should show our
scottish or gaelic heritage

-like i said, *ssh*(e

and by noon hour i was
no longer marching
in any high school
