Round Two

you’re getting in more and better shape
while i watch stallone movies
you’re walking the sidewalks
carrying all the groceries
while i’m reading great comics
you’re doing pushups(s)
while i am writing
writing
writing

we’re both in great shape baby
just in ways foreign to
the other

you’re studying
and studying
and
studying

i’m reading
sleeping
driving

you’re punching and sweating
while i’m fighting
to get my body back from
the dead

we’re both on the battle field baby
yeah
both trying to capture the flag

you’re
and
i’m

i’m
yours

there you go-
together
again in the same
fight

and loving the fear of
the unknown
outcome…..
