the public saw what they wanted to…..you went past it

i

am only what you

see

on the surface

dig deeper

past the masculine shoulder gun-holster

take off the fedora

and see the baldness pattern

look past my notes

and see the diary

i may be gritting my teeth

i may be picturing you naked

i may be thinking about the right brand of justice

i am definitely`

making sure i’m one step ahead of everyone else

but on the surface

i am only what you think

you

see…..
