publicly funded
so why take chances?
a few complaints
could turn into a petition crossing the floor.

this time of year
you don’t hear other faiths coming out and making noise
they’re just as joyous –

it’s atheists
the
non practising
who
come out of the wood work.
and really
i
gotta wonder….
if yer an atheist or
a none
practising believer –
what do you
care?

‘winter pageants’
‘black and orange day’
‘in all of us command’

the museums and art gallery’s will be next.
take out any religious artifacts
put fig leaves on all the statues.

in time
Fahrenheit 451 will be instated
we’ll have to
keep books in brown paper bags
Knights of Columbus swords
will have to be sharpened
and at the ready
around the
altar.

it’s not foreign wars
or terrorists or
new immigrants
who will take away the norm
it will be the enlightened
the entitled
who lose their minds over
whatever they
remember from their own
past –
