you and me and family makes three

the high school rebel from 20 years ago
is the addict we’re having trouble with

the young teen giving us the finger
calling us a pig

is the 30 – 40 year old
we’re taking to the hospital

the kid doing quick rips
is the adult with a yellow wagon dragging along some beer

the person unable to hold down a job

is the homeless fellow we’ve got in the back seat calling
us every name in the book

the illegal search unfair to you
the cuffs and the court from back in the day…..

what are we both doing wrong?
