Dear Edith

everything is dead while it lives
lie on the bed and be exquisite for a moment
i have nothing to offer anyone
except my own confusion
relax your body until i see what the world fears.

Art cannot be modern
Art is primordially eternal

don’t argue with the thoughts
thoughts lead to imagination
and i see you now
don’t move on this bed
let the easel become my words
for your love

i am so rich – i believe in the immortality of all creatures
be my creature now and submit to the unknown
i will always be known to you
my muse more than my muse – i need you to – use

Art cannot be modern
Art is primordially eternal

my love for you
is eternal
my love for you
is lost to physical structure……

* Egon Schiele (painter)
quotes: “Everything is dead while it lives”
“Art cannot be modern. Art is primordially eternal.”
“I am so rich….”

* Jack Kerouac (poet)
quote: “I had nothing to offer anybody except my own confusion.”

*Edith Harms was Schiele’s wife and muse…..
