First Tuesday Muse

i am drinking Jameson
and watching Star Trek
can you make a poem out of that?
No
and not really.

But

can you make it interesting enough
to present at a show such as First Tuesday Muse
put in some humour
but no swearing

Forget You!

it’s STAR TREK

you’re watching Star Trek
and drinking Jameson
arguing with some hockey expert on Facebook
why getting lavender split on his shoes in a Belleville Wal-Mart is no big deal

don’t ask for the $100 gift card
go for the 40
you bought those shoes at Winners any ways

Besides

Winners is only 30 minutes down the road on a Tuesday night
first of the month at the Tweedsmuir
where you can buy better booze like Wisers
and listen to the works of
Snell or perhaps Piton
and Say the Names of such fictional characters
such as

Moore and Crazy Irishman……..

* Tweedsmuir – famous pub in Tweed Ontario

*First Tuesdsay Muse – a group of poets and story tellers who present every first Tuesday of
the month

*Snell and Piton – Peter Snell and Billy Piton founders of First Tuesdsay Muse

*Moore and Crazyirishman – Darren Moore a regular contributor to First Tuesday Muse
– Crazyirishman a pen name for contributor Martin Durkin to
First Tuesday Muse
*Say The Names – famous poem by poet Al Purdy
