My muse

are you a muse?
i’m not amused -you say-
put away the brush
toss the professional touch
no paper or pen nor finalization
don’t take this moment and put it down
you and i are not a camera phone moment

are you amused
i don’t need a muse
this is me
-i say-
but i need you on both levels
privately and outwardly
but not exposed or tossed fortune in a pool
not a quarter or forgotten penny

i’m far too lucky….

are you amused?

Over the past 4 years, Durkin has been on hiatus for the most part but has recently come back to the poetry scene creating a poetry site called, where in the past year he has written over 100 poems and created a cross over page on where he gives a story behind each of the pieces written.
