the removal of her blue Schiele top
the tuft of sugar in a glimpse

Then the rain
the flat belly
her hands saving face
wet hair mopped behind ears.

Do not mention the removal

instead tell her

‘I dont want to go
but i will return’

Quickly…

The hwy drive
morning sun drying on our back
